Music friend and concert violinist Simon
Hewitt Jones is once again on the cutting edge of music
technology. Now he's offering violin lessons
world-wide through Skype. "I was really surprised at how clear and easy it is to work with
someone over a connection, regardless of where they are,"
Simon wrote AIM from London. "I've been testing it
with someone in Australia and it's almost like they're in the next room! It's
really quite extraordinary how fast the way we do things is changing, thanks to
the internet!" Follow the 'Learn Violin' link on

Jersey Boys - This is a great show! A musical based on the life story
of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from the
1960s. The
story contains the usual personality
conflicts between bandmates, to be sure, but some real pathos as well - the death of a child,
trouble with the mob, etc. The music still sparkles after all these years. Try
the selections by The Four Seasons in the
player below. There are also two cast recordings available on Amazon. Find show dates at

(buy through Ticketmaster and AIM can give back
to music)

Contemporary
Classical - Daniel Schnyder Subzero; Concerto for Bass Trombone: Zoom
Out. I saw this composer in concert recently. Maybe I was just taken
with his black leather pants or the electric-green striped socks, but a 'dead
European' musty bust he is not. Rhythm is what will distinguish the classical
music of the 21st century, he told the audience.
For more contemporary classical, check out the special guests on
AIM Radio this month.
