A suite of semi-related pieces (in progress) that continues my exploration of electronic sound frontiers. The first is Jung Again. What does the title mean? Nothing, it's just a nonsensical placeholder which I prefer to 'Opus 73'. But see what you think.... is it pink, purple and aqua for you, too? (See comment from Austin, Texas below.) How Jung Again Was Created

The Suite continues with Dark Energy, a wickedly beautiful piece that conjures up dancing ghosts and demons. I can hear my sister now - 'it's devil music, it's devil music!' The Dark Energy Story

Next up is Man and His Cymbals, written for percussion. It's all about groove and cross-rhythm. The Writing of Man and His Cymbals

Dreamanicity is a study in contrasts, from sweet dreams to nightmares. Breaks new ground in shifting meter and over-the-bar phrasing. From Conception to Execution

What They're Saying -

Dreamanicity
"It's gorgeous! ... invites you to close your eyes and imagine yourself in a fairy-tale in which you become each character – the beautiful princess, the charming and knight-like prince, the dragon, and the witch all in one. The delicate melody introduced in the very beginning makes an appearance with variations throughout the song and gives the song the dream-like quality the title hints to. The delicacy fades away for a strong ending which could lead the listener to believe they are no longer in the dream."
    - Minneapolis, Minnesota

"A fanciful atmosphere ... mysterious. A dream-like state, communicated through haunting, synthesized echoes. Transitions between lighter and darker moods. The soft reverie of the background leaps in and out of more intense sections. A struggle between luminous undertones and ominous interruptions."
        - Flagstaff, Arizona

"A drama... I had no idea how it was going to unfold"
    - Washington, D.C.

"I really enjoyed it. It was very melodic. Keep up the good work!"
    - Alexandria, Virginia

Jung Again
"Wow, EEts Pretty darn Bueno!!! I enjoyed the light show and especially liked the pink to purple and the aqua. Congratulations.
    - Austin, Texas

"I really enjoyed it. It is melodic, sophisticated and hypnotic. Great going! Keep composing. The world needs your wonderful music."
    - Sedona, Arizona

"... builds into a complex and rich sound toward the end"
    - Chicago, Illinois

Dark Energy
"That was great! All the sounds really fit the title. You're progressing as a composer. Very impressive."
    - Potomac, Maryland

Man and His Cymbals
"Sounds great!"
    - Decatur, Illinois
